For applicants

To those who wish to be assigned to Ito Laboratory

Our laboratory has a background in engineering (especially, chemical engineering and bioengineering) and chemistry (especially, polymer chemistry) as university undergraduate specialties. We value independence, and we work hard or help each other.
Research themes range from engineering research such as material development, evaluation of physical properties, and process design, to medical research aimed at clinical applications. Students are encouraged to flexibly acquire a wide range of knowledge, including knowledge in related medical fields, and to improve their ability to find and solve research problems by developing an engineering sense while crossing over into the fields of chemistry, physics, and biology. For more detailed research, please see Research Contents.

For Undergraduate Students (Graduation Thesis)

Undergraduates can be assigned from the Department of Chemical Systems Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering.

For Graduate Students (Master's Thesis, Doctoral Thesis)

Students can be assigned from the following three graduate school majors.
・Department of Chemical Systems Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo
・Department of Bioengineering, Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo
・Master of Medical Science, Graduate School of Medicine, The University of Tokyo
